Beauty Review: Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation

A week ago while on a quick store run I picked up the Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation in golden beige. What caught my eye was the price tag of $5.99 and in the past I've found some great products from this brand. I haven't read many reviews so I wasn't sure what to expect.

The Pros:
This product stood out in the store because of the simple yet clean glass packaging. Although it's a drugstore brand, the packaging gave it more of a high end appeal. It comes with a spatula applicator to control how much product you are using. It's not my favorite applicator and I prefer a pump, but it beats not having one at all. The color matches perfectly and has a matte finish, which is great for my oily skin. It blends easily and a little product goes a long way. I can't speak for how well it photographs, but in person it's flawless. I was impressed with the shade range. There are 20 colors to choose from which is quite a bit for a drugstore brand.

The Cons:
The smell... is terrible. As soon as I opened the bottle I noticed that it smelled like paint and questioned whether I should be putting it on my face. The first day I wore it my face broke out a little.  I think this foundation, mixed with my skin type and the weather all played a part. I've worn it a few more times and haven't experienced any more breakouts.

Overall, for the price tag this foundation is decent. It wouldn't be my go to, but if I was in a pinch this would do the trick.

Have you tried this foundation? What are your thoughts?
