Don't Give Up On Your Dreams, Do This Instead4:59:00 AM
All of this had me feeling incredibly down and then I started to question if anything was ever going to pay off. It can be so hard to keep going when you can't see the benefits. As positive as I try to be, I have moments where I just want to give up. What got me through, besides getting coffee, is taking steps each day to keep my dreams alive. Here's what I like to do, and if you'e feeling down try them out too!
Remember why you started: If you haven't sat down and defined your "why" this is a must. Really think about why you chose that specific path. I'm sure it's an answer that has a significant meaning. Money is cool and clothes are nice, but what impact are you making. What change would you like to see in the world, your family and in yourself? Grab your notebook, a pen and a comfy seat and pour out what this all means in the end. Whenever you feel yourself slipping, grab your notebook to remind yourself that there's a dream to make into a reality!
Get inspired: Adventure is out there, take it from Ellie! No matter where you live there's something to discover. Go to the bookstore, local shops, thrift stores, museums the list goes on. I get sad when people think they have to live in a big city to starting "living" life. Life is amazing when you decide to make it amazing. If you want to be a writer, go listen to lectures or Ted talks. Surround yourself with people and things that align with your dreams to spark new ideas and learn something new.
Be nice to yourself: Yes, you reading this. You saw the title, clicked, so I know you can relate. Stop thinking about everything that could go wrong and talk about everything that will go right! You will have the life of your dreams, you will be successful, and you will make yourself proud! You are an overcomer. Look at all that you been through and you're still standing! Yes, mistakes happen, no one's perfect. Stop beating yourself up. Instead, pick yourself up and start again. Your dreams are counting on you!
Have a wonderful day!
